RainPOD

A New Kind of POD Experience

RainPOD is the fourth member of the Axiom EDC POD series, joining the original POD, HexPOD, and oPOD with an entirely new tactile experience inspired by the movement and sound of a traditional rain stick.

Built around the same footprint as the original POD, RainPOD features a free-flowing internal chamber filled with over a hundred miniature 304 stainless steel balls. Tilt, rotate, roll, or shake it and the balls cascade through the interior, creating constantly shifting sound, movement, and tactile feedback.

Concentric grooves across each face interact with the balls as they move while also providing a window into the chamber, letting you watch them flow, gather, disappear, and reappear as the RainPOD moves in your hand.

At the center is the familiar 3/8 in ball used throughout the POD family. Captured in position but free to rotate, the center ball creates another way to interact with the design: hold it between your thumb and fingers and rotate the RainPOD around it while the miniature balls cascade through the chamber.

Like a worry stone, RainPOD does not prescribe how it should be used. There is no sequence to follow or movement to master — simply something tactile to interact with while your hands find their own motion.

Seamless Construction

RainPOD is built from two interlocking halves that permanently snap together during assembly, creating a virtually seamless enclosed body to contain the center and rain balls.

The interface between the halves forms an accent band around the perimeter, turning the construction itself into a design element and allowing RainPOD colorways to complement those found throughout the oPOD Drip Series and Vector lineup.
